MeetUp Events

Small covens, typically ranging from 2–5 members, maximize spiritual intimacy, trust, and cohesion, allowing for deep, focused energy work. Smaller groups (3–4) are ideal for balancing diverse skills and personalities, whereas groups larger than 5-13 can suffer from power struggles, loss of intimacy, and complex, diluted group dynamics.

How Different Group Sizes Work Best

  • Group of 2 (The Working Pair): Often called a “working couple” or partnership, this allows for extreme intimacy and deep, personalized trust. They are ideal for intense, focused, and private energy work, easily keeping secrets and fostering high accountability.
  • Group of 3 (The Triple-Braided Cord): Often considered ideal, this structure is stable, echoing the “triple-braided cord” which is not easily broken. It allows for a balance of power, where two can support the third or mediate, fostering strong, intimate bonds.
  • Group of 4 (The Four Elements/Directions): This size works well for representing the four elements (Earth, Air, Fire, Water) or directions, providing a well-rounded, stable energy structure. It allows for paired, detailed, and methodical work while remaining close-knit.
  • Group of 5 (The Pentagram): Five allows for a High Priestess/Priest plus a core group to represent the four corners and the central, uniting spirit. It is often the maximum size for maintaining high personal trust, accountability, and intimate connection before the group begins to feel less like a community.

Why More People Limit Spiritual Integrity

  • Diminished Intimacy: As groups grow, intimate, close-knit connections are easily lost, making it difficult to maintain the deep, shared vulnerability required for high-level, intentional, and effective soul work.
  • Social and Political Dynamics: Larger groups increase the chance of social politics, “ringleader” personalities, or power struggles, which can undermine the spiritual purpose of the coven.
  • Reduced Cohesion: Larger groups often lack the cohesion needed to act as a unified, focused, and powerful spiritual team.
  • High Maintenance & Conflict: The more people in a group, the harder it is to coordinate, communicate, and work together peacefully.

Ultimately, smaller, intimate groups of 2–5 enable a stronger, more focused, and cohesive spiritual energy, whereas larger groups tend to become more complicated and less focused, often diminishing the depth and integrity of their shared work.
